2009 vs 2010 Home Sales Oneida and Vilas Counties

The Wisconsin REALTORS Association has complied home sales data from across the state.  Interestingly, most areas showed decreases in sales volume with values flat to rising slightly.  In the Northwoods, we actually were the only area that showed positive growth in both areas.

The above chart looks at home sales in Oneida and Vilas County by price bracket.  When we break down where we saw volume growth in the higher price segments:

                                                                      2009                       2010                       % Difference

$0 – $100,000                                          195                         194                             -.5%

$100,000 – $200,000                         260                         265                            + 1.9%

$200,000 – $300,000                         116                         136                           +17.2%

$300,000 – $400,000                          66                          68                             + 3.0%

$400,000 – $500,000                          34                          38                             +11.7%

$500,000 and higher                            43                          60                             +39.5%

The growth numbers are tempered by the extremely low 2009 volumes.   Some of these homes sold at significant discounts too.  Nevertheless, it is good to see the positives!  There are Buyers out there and they are buying!
